The invisible consequences of the visible damage. In 'Diepe Krassen' you are taken into the processing of a physical scar that also left its traces mentally.
As a child I’ve built up a collection of various scars. None of these had a big impact on me. They are the result of little accidents that didn’t bother me that much; I didn’t like them but forgot about it pretty quickly. Until last summer's accident that left me with a scar from a complex fracture in my wrist. I unexpectedly had a lot of trouble with this new scratch. Why is this scar different from the others and how do you deal with the impact of it?
The publication consist of multiple illustrations, pictures and personal stories about my scar(s) but of others as well.

Phony is an illustrated zine about masking; hiding your authentic self in an effort to gain greater social acceptance.The book is inspired by the lyrics of the song ‘Fake happy’ of Paramore. The book represents the behavior we tend to have when we don’t feel right. We put on a mask to fit in society.
